It is much too far from the city centre away. I prefere Hotels which have shopping, restaurants etc. within walking distance. Ramadan did not help either.

The food and service were not what you would expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast offered was below average. The balcony was not even large enough to hold a single chair. Take advice from someone who’s been there. Skip it!

Our stay at Jebel Ali turned out much better than we hoped. My husband and I desperately needed a break and Jebel Ali turned out be a GOD sent. The golf and spa were totally rejuvenating and equally beautiful were the views.

The staff was very attentive and took great pains to see to our comfort. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. In all, I would rate this as a 4 star hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days as my father had his annual summit in Dubai. My mother was little worried as to how we would have managed in his absence, but the hotel staff took a good care of us right from the beginning till the day of our departure. I remember we arrived at the hotel around midnight but still our check-in was handled in an efficient way. I was with my mother where we were given a beach facing room. The rooms were not that bad as we were used to a living in 5 star hotels way back our home country. The rooms at Jebel Ali were dirt free and comfy with almost all the facilities that we get in a 5 star hotel. Everything was only a phone call away where the room attendants did a good job. Whenever my father used to go out for his business meets my mother used to take me to the pool, beach and marina. We really enjoyed a lot with all the water activities. I was often amused by the construction work in the nearby area of the Jebel Ali Palm Island, but my mom never allowed me to go and see it. We spent most of our days at the beach/pool area. The food offered at the hotel was good especially the one served at it's a la' carte restaurants. During the late noon's we used to land up at the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach. My mom used to enjoy shopping at the numerous malls and took the maximum facility of the hotel's free shuttle to Ibn Battuta Mall, Mall of Emirates/Ski Dubai, gold & diamond Park and Aquaventura. Soon the last day arrived. When my father asked me on the last day how I find it in his absence my reply was a big noooooooooooo with a big wide smile.

The last year was quite good as I had some real good memories of it today when I look back. I happened to visit Dubai with my friends somewhere during October. I remember the last time I had been to Dubai was in the 2008. Things have changed to a great extent in Dubai, especially due the economic meltdown. One of my friends suggested going for hotel Jebel Ali to which we all agreed as the hotel was only 30 minutes drive from the centre of Dubai. We were also looking for other amenities like a wide variety of restaurants, spa, golf etc. that were offered at a relatively good price at this hotel. Well people looking for diverse prospect may not agree with us as everyone's tastes are likely to differ. The recession period in a positive manner actually benefited us as we find the activities like shopping a lot more cheap as compared to the previous time when I had been to Dubai with my other acquaintances. But Jebel Ali did retain its price. As I am not a foodie, I avoided the 'a La Carte Cuisine' this time also at the hotel and went for the two other restaurants. But for nightlife enjoyment we had to go out in a cab and travel almost 20-25 mins from Jebel Ali to a Barista Bar to have more fun. We also visited other attractions especially 'the wild wadi water park' for more enjoyment and carried some excursions. Before we finished our trip we also managed to go to the golf course. There, I felt a dire need that it would really have been better if the hotel could have offered us some discount packages to cover fun and relaxation at the same time.
