Dubai World Hospitality Championship to be held for the first time

Under the guidance from Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Zabeel Palace Hospitality, Dubai will host the first Dubai World Hospitality Championship to be held from November 16-18 at The Dubai World Trade Centre. The World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and The Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG) are also assisting to make this special event a grand success.

The contest is aimed at bringing out the best in Emirati talent, whether they are professional chefs or home cooks. It will help them show their exquisite skills as well as enhance international standing.

The organizers are hoping the contest will boost traditional Emirati cuisine and promote local produce. Twelve countries will participate in this International Tournament, while the local Emiratis can put their culinary skills to test at The Emiratis Tournament and the Local Tournament. At a station called, 'Emirati Heritage' international chefs will demonstrate the Emirati cooking style.

Along with tournaments, individual contests for ice carving, sugar decorations, wedding cakes and chocolate carving shall also be organized. In addition, a separate cooking area is arranged for women who do not wish public exposure.
